A mystical monastery swallowed by the jungle — where legend says Hanuman rested
About Ritigala
Ritigala is a mountain range featuring an ancient Buddhist monastery hidden deep within the jungle. The ruins, which date back to the 1st century BCE, include stone paths, meditation platforms, and bathing pools, all overgrown with thick vegetation. The atmosphere is quiet, serene, and steeped in myth—legend says the mountain is a piece of the Himalayas dropped by Hanuman.
