About Minneriya National Park

Minneriya is famed for 'The Gathering', an incredible natural phenomenon where hundreds of Asian elephants congregate around the Minneriya tank during the dry season (July to October). Beyond elephants, the park is a mix of dry tropical forest and wetlands, hosting macaques, sambar deer, leopards, and large flocks of water birds. It's a spectacular wildlife experience in the Cultural Triangle.
