About Badulla
Badulla is a major city in the Uva Province, situated in a valley entirely surrounded by hills and tea plantations. It marks the end of the scenic railway journey from Colombo. The city is deeply historic, featuring the Muthiyangana Raja Maha Vihara, an ancient Buddhist temple. Just outside the city is the magnificent Dunhinda Falls, one of Sri Lanka's most beautiful waterfalls.

January to April (dry season). The town is most visited as the final stop of the scenic train from Colombo/Kandy via Ella. Dunhinda Falls is spectacular year-round but most dramatic after rain.
