About Horton Plains
Horton Plains National Park is a protected area in the central highlands featuring sweeping grasslands, thick cloud forests, and a cool, biting climate. It is home to the famous 'World's End', a sheer cliff with a drop of about 4,000 feet offering incredible views, as well as the beautiful Baker's Falls. Early morning hikes here are a highlight of any Hill Country itinerary.

Best Time to Visit
January to March offers the clearest views. Go early — clouds typically roll in by 10am, obscuring World's End. The 9 km loop walk takes 3-4 hours. Very cold at night (bring a jacket).
