About Adam's Peak
Adam's Peak (Sri Pada) is a 2,243-meter tall conical mountain located in central Sri Lanka. It is well known for the Sri Pada 'sacred footprint', a 1.8-meter rock formation near the summit. The arduous night climb is undertaken by thousands of pilgrims to reach the peak for a spectacular sunrise. It is revered in Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, and Christianity, making it a powerful symbol of unity.

Best Time to Visit
Pilgrimage season runs December to May, with January/February being the busiest. Most pilgrims begin the 7 km, 5,500-step ascent at midnight to reach the summit for sunrise. The mountain is closed to visitors October to November.
