Galle

A living Dutch colonial fort where history meets the Indian Ocean

About Galle

Galle is best known for its magnificent 17th-century Dutch Fort, a beautifully preserved UNESCO World Heritage site. Walking through the fort's narrow streets, you'll find an enchanting mix of European architecture and South Asian traditions, with boutique hotels, art galleries, and cafes housed in colonial-era buildings. The ramparts offer stunning sunset views over the ocean.
