About Negombo
Located close to the international airport, Negombo is often the first or last stop for travelers. Known as 'Little Rome' due to its many Catholic churches, Negombo has a vibrant local fishing industry. The massive daily fish market (Lellama) is a spectacle of local life. The city also features a network of Dutch-era canals, wide sandy beaches, and numerous seaside restaurants.
