Each waterfall offers its own character, scenery, and adventure — from refreshing natural pools to dramatic cascades hidden within the mountain wilderness.
THE HIGHLIGHT — ALAKOLA ELLA WATERFALL ABSEILING: Feel the rush of descending beside a cascading waterfall at Alakola Ella. Equipped with professional-grade safety equipment and guided by experienced instructors, you will experience the thrill of waterfall abseiling while surrounded by the spectacular Knuckles wilderness. Whether you are an experienced adventurer or taking on waterfall abseiling for the first time, GMCT instructors provide professional guidance throughout the experience.
YOUR SAFETY IS OUR PRIORITY: GMCT activities are conducted under the supervision of experienced adventure instructors, including former Special Forces personnel, with professional training in wilderness operations, survival, climbing, rope techniques, and adventure safety. You will be accompanied by an elite team of Ex-Sri Lanka Air Force Special Forces personnel (Adventure Instructors, Professional Mountain Guides, Physio / Combat Medic, Wilderness Survival Specialists, Safety & Rescue Personnel).
Morning (07:00 AM): Depart from Kandy towards the pristine Knuckles Mountain Range wilderness.
08:30 AM – Waterfall Hopping Commences: Trek through dense mountain jungle and discover the first series of hidden cascades: Thaliya Wetuna Ella, Huliganga Ella, and Saree Ella. Enjoy refreshing dips in crystal-clear natural rock pools.
11:30 AM – Midday Exploration: Journey deeper to Lebonan Ella and Jodu Ella, surrounded by pristine rainforest flora and dramatic mountain views.
01:00 PM – Lunch & Rest: Enjoy a wholesome packed lunch in the mountain wilderness.
02:00 PM – The Highlight: Alakola Ella Waterfall Abseiling: Professional safety gear fitting and briefing by Ex-Special Forces instructors. Experience the unforgettable adrenaline rush of descending beside the thunderous Alakola Ella cascade!
04:30 PM: Final natural pool swim and wrap-up.
06:00 PM: Return to Kandy with unforgettable memories of Sri Lanka’s wild heart.
